Dingle Peninsula -
6000 Years of History

Olde Railway Home is located in the centre of Annascaul village with enclosed gardens, ideal for childern and pets. The Village sits along a river's edge with ogham stones, ring forts... mysteries of ancient Ireland all around. The Tralee to Dingle Railway was the most westerly railway in Europe and passed through the village for decades bringing wares to the remote settlements. Though gone now it will hold a place in the tradition and folklore of Dingle. Annascaul is a typical Irish Village with lively Pubs, small country shops and restaurants.

Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean Kerry’s coastline is renowned for its spectacular Blue Flag beaches and stunning scenery. Inch Strand, a 6 km long, Blue Flag beach with breath-taking scenery, is just a seven minute drive from Annascaul village. The scenic strand also was background in several movies, e.g The Playboy of the Western World and Ryan's Daughter.

Dingle town
, renowned for its lively harbour, Pubs & Restaurants, Arts & Crafts and - of course 'Funghi the Dingle Dolphin' - is a mere 10 mins drive from Annascaul. The quaint narrow streets offer a unique atmosphere inviting to stroll around. The spectacular Slea Head Drive is a exceptionally picturesque corniche road and leads you past prehistoric remains along the rugged coastline with glorious scenery including the Blasket Islands and small sandy beaches dotted among the Cliffs.

The wild Slieve Mish Mountain Range offers plenty of Walking and Hiking possibilities for all tastes. The scenic route between Inch and Camp is starting point of a hill walk to Caherconree Stone Fort at a height of 625 mtrs, possibly the highest structure of this type in Ireland. Views from the mountain are spectacular. A must for the more ambitious hiker is Mount Brandon on the western tip of the peninsula. Several routes are possible but all of them provide more stunning views on the Peninsula, the islands and on the Atlantic Coastline.

The many other activities include
sightseeing trips to Killarney National Park and the Ring of Kerry
angling in mountain rivers and on the Atlantic - fishing trips start from Dingle Port.
golfing in Dingle, Killarney and Tralee
traditional music school in dingle
Dingle Town also provides for Complete All-Weather Family Entertainment in a number of facilities - as the oceanworld aquarium, the activity centre and the Dingle World of Leisure
horse riding
surfing, swimming and diving on several locations on the peninsula
